Len Southward Adventure Award
Sir Len Southward was a long-term and generous benefactor of the Wellington Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association.

Criteria
Applicants must have participated in, or intend to participate in, a challenging adventure project during either the past or upcoming calendar year for which the award is being sought. The project should be demanding, and applicants must demonstrate tenacity, enthusiasm, and, above all, personal drive in pursuing and achieving their goal.
Eligibility
This award is open to all New Zealand citizens with a physical disability. While primarily intended for individuals, small groups may also be considered eligible if applying for a shared project or goal.
Conditions of application
Applicants must be permanent residents of New Zealand. Applicants must also confirm that the activity for which the award is sought was either completed in the calendar year ending 31 December immediately prior, or will be completed in the year following. Applicants must also agree that the decision of the Trust is final.

Applicant has a physical disability or works in the field of physical disability
Cost of the adventure is realistic and verified with supporting information. e.g. quotes
Credible Referee Statement is included
Medical verification of physical disability provided, where applicable
Other sources of funding identified.

Past grants
This award has supported a wide range of activities, including (but not limited to): a skiing course in Canada, recording the experiences of war veterans, an art project, a wildlife photography project.
Closing date
All applications must be submitted by 1 November each year.
